Laila Milanian – Teaching Children And Adults To Read

Laila Milanian knows that it is important to get children interested in reading at a young age. Living in NYC, she sees many children and adults who cannot read. She is part of an urban reading initiative that helps assist children and adults with reading and riding. There are many ways you can help children and adults learn to read.

Tutoring
If you have a couple of free hours a day, you have plenty of time to tutor a child or an adult in reading and writing. You can arrange to meet at a library, recreational center or even a school. Just spending a little time each day or a few days a week with someone can help them learn to read and write and lead to a better quality of life.

Donate
There are many organizations that help teach reading and writing, but do not have enough supplies to do so. By donating books, notebooks, pencils and other supplies, you can help these organizations help others.

Awareness
Many people don’t realize how many adults and children cannot read or write. By raising awareness of the problem, you can inspire and motivate other people to donate their time and money and help those who cannot read or write or the organizations that support them.

Laila Milanian knows that reading and writing are basic skills that everyone should master. Not everyone has the opportunity to learn these skills at a young age, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late. There are many ways you can help teach people in your area to read and write.
